Distance learning is synchronous online training. It is a virtual classroom and it is given via a web platform, in the presence of a trainer and with a defined date and time. The exchanges between the learners and the trainer will take place in real time.

Self-study is asynchronous training. It is self-learning using the teaching aids and assignments made available online by the trainer. The learner will work on their own schedule and progress at their own pace. Exchanges with the trainer will be delayed by email or via a discussion forum.
